GENERAL INFORMATION
The Rainbows Festival & Street Fair
The annual Rainbows Festival & Street Fair is a celebration of the diversity of the LGBT community. The event is located in historic Heritage Square Park in downtown Phoenix. Each year, the Rainbows Festival draws a crowd in excess of 25,000 gay and lesbians, family members and friends. This is one of the largest LGBT events in the state of Arizona.
The first ever Rainbows Festival was held in downtown Phoenix in 2002.
Date & Time
The event has expanded to a full weekend of fun and entertainment. It is both Saturday & Sunday – October 2nd & 3rd, 2010.
On both days, the annual Rainbows Festival will open at 10 am and close at 6 pm.
Heritage Square Park is located in downtown Phoenix at 7th Street & Monroe, adjacent to the Phoenix convention Center and the Science Museum.
Parking & Transportation
The Rainbows Festival & Street Fair is located next to Chase Field, US Airways Arena and Arizona Center. There are parking structures next to Heritage Square Park for over 20,000 cars. For additional public transportation, check www.valleymetro.org.
There are several light rail stations located adjacent to the event, just get off at the Chase Field exit, and walk to the Rainbows Festival.
FREE ADMISSION
The annual Rainbows Festival is a free admission event — there is no charge to attend this fun weekend of fun, frolic and food. The event is open to the general public.
Exhibitors
There are nearly 175 exhibitors and partners of the 2010 Rainbows Festival. There is a great variety of artists, art & craft sellers, non profits and businesses that market their service and products to the metro Phoenix LGBT community.
Alcohol Beverages
Alcohol is sold and permitted in the entire park area. Beverage tickets cost $5.00 each and are required for purchasing alcohol. You must be over 21 years of age and have a proper ID and wristband to purchase alcohol products.

Rainbows Festival urges you to drink responsibly and will refuse service to anyone without a proper ID or who appears to be intoxicated.
Water & Soda
There are several locations around the festival where water, soda and energy drinks can be purchased for $3.00 cash. Each location is staffed by a local non profit organization.
Food
A variety of food vendors will be on site in the food court area. This includes Asian & Greek cuisine, sausages, smoothies, burgers, hot dogs, snow cones, kettle corn, ice cream products and fresh squeezed lemonade. All food is purchased with cash.
There are several sitting area with tables and chairs in the Festival grounds.
Entertainment
Saturday: the Festival Garden comes alive @ 11 am featuring Dj Tsunami and a variety of great entertainment From Musicians, Dance and Song. Then at 3 pm RaShaan Houston headlines, the main stage opening up for the live interactive show. The finals of the Arizona Gay Idol where local vocalist compete for 1,000 Dollars and a chance for a vocal recording and release with the “The Majic Boys”, produced by Wet Dog Promotions.
Sunday: Sunday peaks up right after Aids Walk 2010! The Stage rolls out the day with Dj Mic Mixxers , Local live sounds, Dance and Performance! Then at 3 o’clock Rainbows Festival brings out our house Diva Barbara Seville and Company with another incredible show.
